Additional information regarding community health, medical services, and requests for appointments can be found at DukeHealth.org.

Flu Vaccination Schedules

Duke students, staff, faculty and dependents covered under an employee's Duke health plan can receive the seasonal flu vaccine for free. Students, staff and faculty must present a valid DukeCard ID.

Annual vaccination against the flu is a condition of employment at Duke University Health System. Learn more.

Please note: An egg-free option of the vaccine will be available.

Staff and Faculty

Faculty and staff can visit Employee Occupational Health & Wellness or attend a roving clinic for flu shots. Flu shots are widely available beginning Sept. 21, 2017, and no appointment is necessary. A schedule of dates and locations will be available in September. Please see the schedule for dates and locations.

Students should check the Student Health website or contact the Student Health Center at (919) 681-9355 to arrange an appointment with the immunization nurse.

Dependents of Staff and Faculty

Certain Duke Primary Care locations are offering extended and weekend hours to accommodate children and other dependents of Duke employees. Dependents do not have to be covered by a Duke health plan in order to receive the vaccine. Flu vaccinations are covered by most health plans, and there is no copay for the shot or visit unless the patient sees a doctor. Duke employees are encouraged to make an appointment for their dependents with Duke Primary Care by calling 1-855-372-1981. Walk-ins are allowed but may require a longer wait time. Nurses and medical assistants will administer the shots.
