Duke offers at least six locations where faculty, staff and students can receive a free flu vaccination. Vaccinations can also be obtained at Duke Primary Care providers, area pharmacies and other locations, but documentation must be provided for compliance.
Annual vaccination against the flu is a condition of employment at Duke Health; other University staff and faculty working on-site must be vaccinated or have an approved medical or religious exemption to maintain access to Duke’s buildings and facilities. Learn more.
Please note: An egg-free option of the vaccine will be available.
Staff and Faculty
Faculty and staff must make an appointment at Employee Occupational Health & Wellness or other on-campus locations for flu vaccinations. Flu vaccinations are widely available beginning Sept. 1, 2020. An appointment is required. Please see the schedule for dates and locations.
Students should check the Student Health website or contact the Student Health Center at (919) 681-9355 to arrange an appointment with the immunization nurse.
Certain Duke Primary Care locations are offering extended and weekend hours to accommodate children and other dependents of Duke employees. Dependents do not have to be covered by a Duke health plan in order to receive the vaccine. Duke employees must make an appointment for their dependents. Walk-ins are not allowed.
